The Water Division
· Water is obtained from groundwater from the Ogallala Aquifer.
· There are currently 18 wells and more than 148 miles of water main in our distribution system.
· Over 2 billion gallons of water is delivered to our customers yearly.
· The system includes over 800 fire hydrants and 2,000 valves.
· The division samples the system periodically to insure compliance with the Safe Water Drinking Act standards and to meet strict KDHE compliance guidelines.
