Local governments lead the effort to promote a welcoming and inclusive environment, provide information on community services, and identify and reduce barriers to access the many facets of community life so that all members of Dodge City feel welcome, connected and able to thrive.
Current Efforts
★ Language Access Plan: The City is committed to language access and ensuring that all residents are able to access City programs and services regardless of what language someone may speak. In collaboration with the Cultural Relations Advisory Board, the City is drafting a language access plan that will lay out efforts for the City to be more inclusive of speakers of languages other than English.
★ Multilingual Pay: In an effort to effectively meet the needs of the community the City offers qualified employees additional pay for multilingual skills. This pay helps ensure the City is able to communicate with residents.
★ Engage Dodge: Engage Dodge is an opportunity designed to introduce residents to city services, programs, and the employees who serve the Dodge City community. This program is offered on a biannual basis. Learn more about the program and how to sign up at https://www.dodgecity.org/1016/Engage-Dodge.
