Refugee and Immigrant Integration

Natural opportunities for newcomers and long-time residents to engage with and learn about each other exists regularly and in various forms throughout the community. Legal assistance and integration program partnerships are accessible and available with the goal to fully integrate newcomers in Dodge City.


Current Efforts
New Americans Dinner and Celebration: Recognizing that becoming a US citizen is a long and difficult process, the City of Dodge City and the Cultural Relations Advisory Board are proud to host an annual New Americans Dinner to honor and celebrate those Dodge City residents who have naturalized. All Dodge City residents who have recently become US citizens are welcome to attend to enjoy a free dinner and receive a gift of recognition.

Naturalization Scholarship: The City of Dodge City Cultural Relations Advisory Board and the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas are proud to offer scholarships to help community members pay for fees related to becoming a US citizen. The 2026 application process will open on Wednesday, April 1st.
